So after saying bye to my parents it was a late-ish start at 1030am, the first few miles where a reverse of yesterday including a killer(not able to pedal up) hill. Then after that just gently undulating through some lovely quite lanes and some busier roads until Hatfield where a rather good cafe produced a satay chicken wrap and coffee. Then it was down past south mimms service station and a successful traverse of the M25. This particular traverse I failed on last year as the rain had put the stream in flood…..and I had to instead cycle around the rather large A1 and M25 junction roundabout….which was er intresting!!. Diving under much better, but the path could be SO much better.
Then a bit of a climb and Barnet and London appears. Starting to get rather warm as well…which was nice. Some lovely paths through parks and quite roads until a sharp left on to the north circular road(well shared path), after that noisy intrusion it was down on White Hart Lane in Tottenham where the end of CS1 is found.
CS1 for those that don’t know is cycle superhighway no1, apart from this one not really a superhighway but just a route down some quite roads and cycle paths….this dropped me in the city, where the Aldgate premier inn beckoned.
Checked in and bike stashed in room and domestic duties done…time to revisit a resteraunt I used last year, AMBER, a fine meal of hummus, roast cauliflower and a lovely veggie middle eastern flatbread pizza.
