In nogent-le-retrou the big event….and it’s hard to miss is the chateau st Jean….built hundreds of years ago and developed in stages. It is perched up on a hill and so has extensive views….all the better to spot the rampaging English in the 10 year war….

It did not help, we took it twice and lost it twice…..but the second time manage to give it a good kicking and burnt down the keep.

All in All very worth a visit it had an interesting museum detailing the history of wars and battles.
