This would be my last day in Brittany and then cross over into the Department of Mayenne…which lived up to its description as being very rural….and apparently city dwellers think of them as a little backward.

So pack up and off as usual morning ride was to be to vitre where I planned to stop for lunch.

Roads very open and straight and they became flatter and gently undulating. Lots of racing type cyclists out….ones two’s small groups and about 20 riding on a peleton with safety car behind.

It was after hear that the land really flattened….the houses and villages became scarcer..

Found an odd little shrine or grotto by the road.

Arrived in craon….lots of nondescript buildings, many closed shops(permently and because it was a holiday).

Got to campsite….reception closed on Thursdays, did not get response to mail I sent earlier in day either. Found plot and set up….Soon after another brit Kev from cleethorps arrived. We went for a poke round the town..found a pizza resteraunt. I had a rustique and wedges.

In morning campsite office not opening till 9.30….not waiting for that so up and away.
