Got up at first light and was on the road by 7am…as it was to be a long day… first up it was away from the river and s climb and into the vinyards

After a while on tiny roads it was on the main Cornish road above the valley, a fine view from a lookout with a statue in honour of a local aviation pioneer…they must have loved him as he also got a small chapel.

After a climb through some tiny villages found an epicery so managed to buy the makings of lunch which I consumed later in brissac quince in a memorial garden adjacent to the chataue

Then it was back to run alongside the river, though genness val du loire which has an excellent rest area for cyclists….power points, toilets and showers and park benches…immaculate
Then on to saumur which lives off wine production and selling place to explore fully another year. Then another 10k on good roads to the campsite. After setting up tent went for a swim in site pool and got all laundry done then had a nice pizza in the on site resteraunt having snagged last table when arriving.
