So during all yesterday’s crap ending passed the 1000 miles mark…
Today was from parthenay to liusgnan on a fairly flat route, through some small villages and some planned and unplanned history.
First a quick ride through the old town, showed a fine church and town wall gate.

Then on to the first village of pompaire the book route just bangs through on main road but I decided to go on side road. Glad i did as the lid school had been transformed into an open air local history Museum with lots of old farm machines and photos of village life in past 100years.

Then on through lovely rolling countryside, mainly wheat…but some other crops, and some cattle first seen since before the loire.

Just before sanxay is a gallo-roman site where a theatre, Roman baths and temple the only surviving bits of whatever a small town in the countryside. A nice place to have lunch , look around and relax.
Then over the top of another auto route.. and then down narrow lane towards the destination…train line and masses of wheat fields explain the ‘grain catherderal’ just outside town.

And so to the campsite at liusgnan…where set up camp lovely green area with some shade and very quite, glynn and his wife rolled in about an hour after(we briefly saw each other at the romans ruins).
Day finished of at adjacent snack bar having a lovely salad and beer overlooking natural swimming area.
Campsite overlooked by very impressive rail bridge
