On to the metropolis

So after packing up….which was interrupted by the guy ‘camped’ next to me who was actually just sleeping in his car…

Well his alarm went he crawled out the boot in his work clothes, jumped in the front and ‘click’ is as much as his car was going to do. A ‘Merry was heard

Tried push starting the little Citroen diesel, first just me then 3 other Egyptian guys….still zero luck. I think that being a modern car to many sensors to satisfy before fuel goes in. The Egyptians offered me a cup of tea and we communicated a bit….after that Mr merde had gone after getting a jump. If it had been an older car I bet it would have started.

A day of thirds, the first was an easy cycle down the Epte river valley to the tiny village of bray-et-lu then it was a slow and steady climb..after a bit started on gravel track…the first in France…about half the day was to be on gravel. Some lovely wide ranging views from the top of the hills…roads very quite.

Eventually entered cergy(pronounced sergy) and popped in to decathlon store, got a new bike pump(old one struggles to reach desire pressure ), some thin cord as a washline and had the bike mechanic check my rear hub.

Then on to the mercure hotel to check in.

First French gravel
